Product Details
This shawl features a unique cable stitch that is combined with a traditional Shetland lace stitch. Combined, they make a striking shawl. The cable stitch comes to us from Canada and the creative mind of Annie Maloney.
This is not a simple project. The lace is a true lace, and the cable stitch needs careful attention.
Even most veteran cable knitters will probably find this particular cable new and different from most that they have knitted.
The stitches are charted out only.
Skill level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a working knowledge of cable and lace knitting).
The shawl was knitted with Handmaiden’s Casbah yarn, in colorway, Kelpie. The final measurement is approximately 20 1/2 inches x 72 inches, and requires approximately 1050 yards.
There are also instructions contained within the pattern for an optional crocheted edging.
Any heavy fingering weight yarn or sport weight yarn will work for this pattern. No crochet hooks needed, if you don't want to edge the shawl.
