I love knitting doilies, they are fun, fast and a relatively small investment in materials; but, I don’t use them for anything. This 72 round doily, knit in a worsted weight yarn, decorated with inexpensive pony beads and attached to a child sized hula hoop makes a generously sized art piece to hang on a wall or fence.
Of course, if you would like a doily sized piece using crochet cotton or lace weight yarn and smaller needles will create a more “reasonable” sized doily.
