Product Details
Worked in two coloured brioche, this crescent shaped shawl starts with a relatively simple body pattern followed by a more detailed border. The shawl is easily resizable by changing either the size of the body or the number of repeats of the border.
The arched structure of the cabled border reminds me of the dramatic arches of Gothic architecture, thus the chosen name of the shawl.
The pattern has both written instructions and charts. Detailed descriptions and a photo tutorial of the more unusual stitches are also included.
Materials:• Fingering weight yarn in two colours, approximately 425m (465yds) of MC and 450m (490yds) of CC. • 4.5mm/US 7 circular needles with a 80cm/32” or longer cable. • Two locking stitch markers or small cable needles. • Tapestry needle to weave in ends.
**Size of finished shawl:**Length 220cm/86.6”, width 68cm/26.75”, relaxed after blocking.
The sample shawl had a gauge of 17 stitches and 24 rows in brioche rib in a 10cm x 10cm (4” x 4”) square, after blocking.
