Product Details
A retro Christmas wreath in the style of a granny square with cheerful pom poms. The wreath in the photo has a 30cm (12 inch) diameter and was made with worsted yarn, but this pattern can be used with a different size of wreath base and a different weight of yarn, and the instructions explain how. The wreath cover is crocheted flat and can be made in as many colours as you wish. An easy stashbuster project.
This pattern has written instructions using American and British crochet terms. There are also photos and a crochet chart.
You will need:
A polystyrene or mache wreath base, painted with acrylic paint. I used a 30cm (12 inch) Rico wreath and Liquitex spray paint.
Dk/worsted/aran yarn in as many colours as you like. I used Cascade 220 and needed 330m (210m for the wreath cover and 120m for the pom poms).
An appropriate size of hook. I used 4mm (F).
A tapestry needle.
Pom pom makers in 3 or 4 sizes. I used 35, 45 and 65mm.
