As an experienced knitter knows, changing from reversed stocking stitch to stocking stitch creates “roll” unless a different stitch is introduced between where the two meet. I did not suspect this would happen in such a garment but it did, leaving an overhanging pouch below the yolk which does not appear in the Picture on the front cover of the pattern. There was no option but to undo the whole lot and start again, adding my own narrow moss stitch band beneath the yolk to eliminate “roll”. OGE is my favourite designer and I’ve always been pleased with her patterns but Hageman sweater P257 is very disappointing as is OGEs response that the “roll” is part of the design, even though it does not appear in the picture of the finished garment.
