Hallowed

I dreamt this shawl up in the fall, when my thoughts were going from enjoying the vibrancy of the late summer harvests to thinking of falling leaves and stillness. I love fall and the way that it eases into our consciousness with subtle changes, like the smell of early morning air or that first leaf that falls on your shoulder. The colors fade with the daylight as we ease into the new season with our thoughts turn inward as we reflect on the year that is quickly coming to a close. Everything fades and slumbers…until spring comes again.

This wrap starts out as if you are knitting a triangulr shawl and then the edges straignten while keeping the chevron down the center. Beautiful bands of airy lace are worked in between the wide bands of the garter where the fade happens! It forms a long rectangle with a point on one end, perfect for attaching a tassel!
