Product Details
The Shire horse is a workhorse, carrying out tasks such as farm work and barge towing, although this knitted horse isn’t quite so heavyweight! Harley the Shire Horse has horseshoes, reigns, a plaited tail, and a collar of rosette awards. This pattern features chart-free intarsia to make the white flash on the head. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the horse is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). DPNs are used to knit i-cord tubes for the reins and collar. Harley is 29cm tall (seated, with ears pricked up). For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
