Product Details
This beanie is knit from the bottom up in the round.
The brim is knit in st st so that it rolls and then a simple 18 stitch 7 row cable pattern repeat is followed for the body until the desired length.
Decreases are made for the crown and then the stem is knit in st st before being closed.
This pattern is worked with DK yarn knitted at a gauge of 13 stitches and 17 rows = 5cm / 2 in[BB1] squared in the cable pattern after blocking.
Note: It is more important to get the stitch gauge correct rather than rows as this pattern will tell you the length to knit to.
The yarn balls listed below are based on yarn with 120 m[BB2] etres/132 yards per 50g ball.
2 (2, 3) balls or 190 (236, 294) metres/ 208 (258, 322) yards.
If your chosen yarn has lesser yardage, you will need to purchase more balls of yarn. The beanie pictured above was knit with Rico Essentials Merino (DK) in colour Natural.
