Product Details
This pattern was developed for a mystery mitten CAL, run jointly at handarbeitsfrauen and on my Ravelry group in March 2015. The idea for this pattern is due to Helen Griffin. She told me about woven/ knit combinations which have been popular at hippie times. This made me play with incorporating weaving into crochet — and since it was such an unusual combination, it was perfect for a mystery CAL.
Thus, these mittens are worked in three techniques. Most of it is slip stitch crochet, with a broomstick insert which gets woven into at the end.
In the pattern, you learn with lots of step photos
back loop only slip stitch (B)
short rows
the invisible seam
an attached thumb
broomstick crochet
weaving into crochet loops
Thanks to Waltraud, Bethan and Regina for proofreading, to Sharon and Heidrun for testing and to all those lovely ladies who crocheted along at the MCAL!
The pattern is available in English (19 pages) and German (21 pages).
