Product Details
Here Comes Summer is a light, airy poncho / wrap, just right as a cover up as you come off the beach, for first thing in the morning while there's a chill in the air. Or for evening walks as the heat of the day subsides.
The simple repeating pattern is perfect for the crochet novice - and if you don’t want to make the rings along the bottom edge, it is very easily replaced with a simple fringe. Or you could leave it off altogether. The poncho is worked top down across the full width, so you might want to check your tension before you start. Although designed as a one size adult poncho, that size can be easily adjusted, once you have checked your tension. You could even make a child size version. Here Comes Summer! is designed for wearing in the summer (!), so I used 100% cotton yarn, which has little give when blocked and fewer metres per ball than other fibres. In the dappled blue version shown, I used 3 whole balls of the stated yarn. Acrylic yarn will require less and blocks easily.
