Hand knit a pair of cosy fair isle mitts with this simple yet striking mitten knitting pattern. This fingerless design is ideal for keeping your hands warm on chillier days, while leaving your fingers free to manage your phone, purse, coat buttons and dog leads. Knitted in the round, the cuff is in rib and the simple fairisle pattern repeats are worked from a colour knitting chart. The thumb uses basic directional increases (instructions given) to create the gusset. Knitted to the tension in the pattern, these delightful mitts fit an average sized adult female hand. The pattern is knitted in Rowan Felted Tweed DK but would make a great 4ply stash buster. This cute pattern is an ideal project for those wishing to practice their two colour stranded colour work technique in the round, as well as providing a relaxing knit for more advanced knitters. It is part of a mini accessories collection inspired by the colours and treasures found at Hill Head, my favourite coastal dog walk.
