Product Details
My inspiration for Honey and Oats came from Kismet Fiber Works Simply Sock yarn in the color way “Toasted Oats”. The warm and toasty color comes from careful hand-dyeing in Kismet Fiber Works’ studio in Buchanan, Virginia, right on the James River. As spring nears, I wanted to create a sock in a sunny color with a pattern associated with spring- and the sound of buzzing bees - so I used a “honeycomb” cable stitch pattern right down the front of the leg and on the instep of these socks, knitted in the color of sunshine.
The pattern is written for working in the round with double-pointed needles. The Honey and Oats socks are knit from the top down, featuring a ribbed cuff, ribbing around the leg, a charted cable stitch pattern down the front of the leg, a slipped-stitch heel flap and round heel, gusset, stockinette on the bottom of the foot with continued cable stitch pattern on the instep and a wedge toe.
