Raspberry poncho is knit from the bottom up. The poncho is designed with positive ease about 50-75 cm/ 20-30 inches. Back, front and pocket of poncho are knitted separately. After the shoulder seams are completed the stitches are picked up for hood.
Material needed:
U.S. 7 (4.50 mm) 32”or 40” circular needle or straight needles for main pieces (larger size for adult sizes)
U.S. 7 (4.50 mm) 16’’ or 32’’ circular needle for hood (larger size for adult sizes) U.S. 4 (3.50 mm) 16’’ circular needle
Yarn - ALIZE Lanagold classic (49% wool, 51% acrylic) [100g/262 yards (240 m)] per skein. 4, 4, 5, (6, 7, 8) {9, 9, 10, 10} skeins
• 2 stitch markers • tapestry needle • 1 button (0.75 inch)
Gauge: U.S. 7 (4.50 mm) - 15 sts x 20 rows = 4x4 square in Stockinette.
U.S. 7 (4.50 mm) - 15 sts x 24 rows = 4x4 square in Garter st.
Note: If necessary, adjust needle size to obtain accurate gauge.
