Product Details
I designed this sleeping bag for my future step-grandson. His mum wanted something snuggly for him to sleep in during the day.
It is knitted in one long piece and then folded in half. The borders are picked up and knitted and the hood is added last.
The hood is finished by using Kitchener stitch to graft it together at the end. As the buttons hold the sides together there is no seaming to do.
Once you get into the rhythm, the long cabled section in the middle is perfect for knitting when you don't want to concentrate too much.
As the sleeping bag is not fitted to the baby and they can wriggle around I wouldn't recommend it for unsupervised sleeping.
This pattern comes in four sizes from Newborn to one year. It has been tech edited and test knitted. It includes charted and written instructions as well as a schematic. It also includes links to video tutorials for techniques used.
The finished item takes around 600-1100g of chunky weight yarn.
