Product Details
Designed to compliment my Hope Springs Hat and Cowl, these fingerless mitts can be made in two lengths.
The shorter length will leave your fingers free which I found perfect for typing when the office was really cold! The slightly longer length just leaves the tops of your fingers free.
Although there is only one width, you can adjust the size by changing your needle size.
Depending on your tension, they will fit a 7.5 - 8 inch hand. (I also lightly felted mine to help keep out the wind.)
It features a 'Selbu' style thumb with the gusset stitches being put on hold by knitting them with waste yarn, then picking up later.
Materials
For the fairisle pair, Jamieson & Smith Supreme for the background (approx 25g), & Shetland Spindrift for the contrast colours. You only need small amounts of the contrast colours - approx 6g of each blue shade, and 3g of each green.
The two tone pair were made with Drops Alpaca.
You will need to be comfortable with stranded knitting and working in the round.
