Indigo Dreams & Crimson Dreams

I have been incredibly lucky to have tutored workshops at The Green Hotel in Mysore, India on several occasions and it was while I was there a few years ago that I came across a bedspread for sale in the hotel fair-trade craft shop. The quilt was a real melting pot of design elements. Featuring patchwork block pieces with small areas of orange, red and green fabrics surrounded by a predominance of indigo dyed block printed fabrics, each part of the blanket was different. It also included kantha stitching and ornate embroidered shisha mirrors. Indigo Dreams was inspired by this fabulously over-the-top bedspread and I really enjoyed using a traditional granny square as the template for many of the motifs. I hope you will love it as much as I do!
