One of the ladies in my knitting group wanted to knit a simple shawl, and after looking at several patterns we decided a basic asymmetric shawl would be the best option. So, I wrote out a pattern for her. Of course, I couldn’t resist adding a bit of embellishment also, so I added a couple of variations.
This shawl can be made with pretty much any weight of yarn, and any size needle, depending on the type of fabric, and size shawl you want to end up with. Different weights of yarn will give you a different finished size. The thicker your yarn, the larger your shawl.
The purple at the top was done using Jilly & Kiddles Sock Yarn in Monkshood and a US size 8 needle.
The green at the bottom left was done using Fish Belly Fiber Works light fingering in Lagoon and a U.S. size 7 needle.
And the yellow below was done using Araucania Huasco DK and a U.S. size 9 needle.
