Product Details
You can use these jolly holly leaves to decorate wreaths, make gift tags or just hang them in pairs on your tree! I have added a few step photos to help less confident crocheters, you’ll find these at the end of the pattern.
YARN: Any yarn can be used, the photographs show holly leaves made using a 3.5mm hook and double knitting weight cotton. I used Blacker Yarns West Country tweed to make my 2018 Holly Wreath (you can find photos on my website); it has a lovely rustic texture and holds its shape well. Experiment with different shades of green and different yarn textures.
TENSION: Exact tension is not critical. Make your first leaf and if you want to adjust the hook size you can.
HOOKS AND NOTIONS: Use a size smaller hook than recommended for your chosen yarn.
SIZE: 7cm long when made using DK cotton and 3.5mm hook.
SKILLS: Working in rounds, double crochet, half treble, treble crochet, slip stitch and surface crochet.
