This sock was inspired by the song ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’ by The Beatles. I love this song and when I was going to knit this sparkle yarn by Polka Dot Sheep, it looked like the night sky. I added a colorwork motif to mimic diamonds and stars. To add a bit of texture, I knit the colorwork with suri alpaca yarn.
This is a top-down sock with a traditional heel flap. It is worked using magic loop; needle 1 will be front of foot/instep/leg, and needle 2 will be back of the foot/leg and heel.
MC: 260-400yds/238-366m fingering weight yarn *(Sample uses Polka Dot Sheep Rime in ‘Depths’.) CC: 12-20yds/11-18m lace weight yarn *(Sample uses Autumn and Indigo Suri Silk in ‘Overcast’.)
