My yearning to connect back to my cultural heritage, in true Seeker Fibre Muse sense, was the idea that prompted this design, and the other designs in this quarterly collection. The colorwork design is based off a traditional geometric wave motif found in Maori weaving. Karekare is Te Reo Maori for wave, but can also mean “choppy or rough waters.”
CONSTRUCTION This yoke pullover is worked bottom-up, in the rnd. There is some short row shaping worked at the end around the back of the neck for a better fit around the shoulders. For best fit, select the pattern measurements that 2 - 4 in./5 cm - 10 cm more than your actual size.
