Product Details
Inspired by the opening line of "Christmas in Killarney", this caubeen (Irish beret) is a fun and practical knit. Shown in DK acrylic/wool blend, this design could also be knit in a pure wool.
The holly leaves and ivy leaves are charted as are the decreases for the shaping of the top (chart is one-eighth of the overall design).
The sample used approx 225 yards of MC (dark charcoal grey) and 125 yards of CC (light spring green) of Plymouth's Encore DK.
A caubeen (or Irish beret) has a deeper lower band than a class tam/beret.
This is the January design for The Brigid Collection. The Brigid Collection is a special collection of patterns for the 2012 knitting year. Named for my 2012 patron saint, St. Brigid of Kildare, this collection will be a celebration of Irish hand-knits.
Each month, on or around the 15th of the month, I will post a new Celtic-inspired design with this logo … some will be classic cable-knit styles, some will be knitted Irish lace, and some
