Product Details
Fingerless mitts/wristlets with King Kong's head and shoulders on the front of each mitt. He is behind the top of the Empire State Building. The mitts do not have thumbs and are plain on the backs.
Approximately 30gm camel 4ply wool was used for the background of the mitts in the photograph. The large gorilla/monkey/ape’s head and shoulders, knitted using the intarsia method, took approximately 10gm black, with oddments of grey and white. The Empire State Building in front of King Kong needs oddments in dark and mid grey. Of course, you can use any colour combination you like.
The mitts could be knitted in plain stocking stitch and the motifs worked in duplicate stitch afterwards. They can be knitted in any 4ply weight yarn - wool, cotton or cashmere.
Each glove is approximately 9cm/3½” wide (un-stretched) and 13cm/5” long from cast-off edge of glove to top of ribbed cuff. The ribbed cuff is approximately 2cm/¾” long but, of course, this can be made longe
