Product Details
The Kinsey Poncho is made up of two rectangles knit flat and seamed together in such a way that the poncho falls effortlessly and slightly askew. The main body is knit in stockinette, with the exposed edges designed to use the natural curl of the stockinette instead of fighting it. The turtle neck is knit up separately in the round (pattern suggests just the right stretchy cast on and bind off) on smaller needles. If you don't like turtlenecks, you can simply leave it off and let the neck area roll naturally. This pattern is suitable for an adventurous beginner. Skills needed include knit, purl, knitting in the round, 3 needle bind off (I include youtube links for the cast on and bind off in the pattern).
Written as one size fits many with tips for adjusting the size for more coverage.
Sample shown in Loops&Threads Woolike. When making a yarn substitution, knit a swatch and adjust needle size or number of stitches to meet the required finished dimensions of the rectangles.
