Once again, I’m teaching knitting at the library. The project for the next step after beginners and advanced beginners needs to be completed in 3 weeks, and it needs to be knittable by knitters with a variety of skill levels. Hence, this new version of the Knitting at the Library Cowl, a lace sampler, was born. There are five sections incorporating different lace patterns with varying difficulty. And, instead of ribbing, the pattern begins with rows of seed stitch, another great technique for teaching knitters to read their bumps and “V’s.” The pattern is written for both fingering and worsted weight yarns.
The pattern is written for one size adult medium but in two weights of yarn: both fingering and worsted.
Pattern was tech edited by Ellen Silva. Graphic design was by Erica Gunn and test knitters were: Jane Leverenz, Ann Templeton and Deborah Simon.
