What you'll need
Product Details
A short little neck scarf that takes just one ball of fancy yarn such as RichMore Count 5 mohair or Filatura di Crosa Gioiello and is quick to make. You can use a variety of yarn of al sorts of thickness, with a needle about 4 sizes bigger than usual. I especially like it done in the ladder ribbon/tramline yarn, where it shows the yarn and the pattern off to best advantage. However you can make this wider and longer if you want a wrap instead of a scarf, and the pattern looks great in a variety of other yarns and needle sizes.
The lace matrix stitch is my own "unvention" and I can't find one like it in any of my stitch pattern books (so it could be "new" but no guarantee!). It is easily learnt being only a 6 row repeat. It's also reversible, very open and lacy, and makes a lovely squishy scarf.
