Product Details
Laurelin, or the shawl formerly known as "knitterain MKAL #1", is a large, top down shawl. It can be blocked straight across the top for a triangular shawl, or the top edge can be curved in for a heart shaped crescent.
In Tolkien’s “Silmarillion”, Laurelin is the golden tree of Aman, one of the two trees of Valinor. She is described as having flowers that fell in clusters from her branches, and a golden light that dripped shimmering dew.
As written it uses around 750 yards of La Jolla, a wonderful sock weight yarn from Baah! Yarns. The first chart can be repeated additional times for an even larger shawl.
Pattern has been extensively test knit, and includes both large, easy to read charts and line by line directions (with stitch count totals) for every row. Lace patterning on right side rows only.
