Learning with Lily is a great teaching tool for little hands with big imagination. She has basic learning features such as zippers, snaps, buttons and ribbon. Want to take Lily a step further? Make her shoes, skirt, and top of dress in different colors so she now can also help teach colors. 5 colors total were used in this pattern but be creative and have fun.
This dolls construction is made with as little sewing as possible with legs and arms worked in on the appropriate rounds.
Pattern includes instruction for re-sizing a zipper, and how the curly hair is made.
Additional Materials 1 pair of 12mm safety eyes; 22” – 24” of 1/4” wide ribbon or shoelace; 1 button 1/2” to 5/8”; 1” button; 1 set of 15mm snaps; closed zipper re-sized for 2” opening (see skirt section for tutorial to re-size zipper); optional 5x7 piece of stiff plastic for shoe inserts; embroidery floss; thread; sewing needle.
