Product Details
This nineteen forties vintage styled turban is made with Smudge Yarn from County Cork. The idea for this hat came from a Knit-a-long I stumbled upon; Knit for Victory, a nineteen forties knitting Challenge. The hat, named lÃonta iascaigh, or fishing nets, is reflected in the lacy rib pattern of the brim and also, in the colour and texture of the yarn. The turban is seamless, the lace brim is knitted first, threaded through a gap in the strip and stitches are then picked up and knit along the edge of the strip and joined in the round. The crown of the hat is then knit in circles of stocking stitch and reverse stocking stitch.
