Product Details
The leafy columns and lacy cables of Lisdoonvarna are worked from stem to leaf tips, in one direction, with the tapered ends shaped by increases and decreases. Lisdoonvarna is shown as a scarf, but can also be worked as a shawlette or shawl of any width, by repeating the increase and decrease sections as many times as desired. Named for "The Road to Lisdoonvarna," a traditional Irish tune.
Yarn: Medium weight #4, 450 yd/415 m for scarf or shawlette without tassels; 490 yd/450 m with tassels. This is a perfect pattern for a subtly variegated yarn.
Difficulty: Intermediate; skills include cable and lace knitting.
Worked flat from end to end. Stitch patterns are given in both written and chart form. Instructions are given for scarf and shawlette; recommend circling instructions for your version.
Sizing as shown for worsted weight yarn; other weights of yarn may be used, but dimensions of scarf or shawlette will change.
