Product Details
The inspiration: what would a little girl wear for a summer evening picnic in Monet's gardens in Giverney? This cropped swing cardigan has modernized details that evoke the lacy collars, simple lines, and Swiss dot fabric from the 1900's. Little Miss Mopsey is worked seamlessly from the top down with set in sleeves. The body is knit with Traveller, and the collar with Bugga! The back is knit first from a provisional cast-on, with short rows to give the shoulder a natural slope, to the end of the armholes. The front is worked from the cast-on and is knit to the same level as the back. At the bottom of the armholes the fronts are joined to the back with stitches cast on under the arm; the body is knit to the bottom. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armhole, with the sleeve cap shaped by short rows, and the sleeve is knit in the round to the end. Stitches are picked up just inside the neck with Bugga! to knit the lace collar.
