These socks are knitted top down with instructions for a German heel and a Round Toe, but a short row heel works fine too and you can make whichever toe you want. A word of caution: This is a pattern for the intermediate and/or advanced sockknitter. although I think a beginner can also knit it, if he/she follows the instructions exactly as given!
