Product Details
The Maasai tribe have amazingly colourful beadwork dating back hundreds of years showing their culture, values and traditions. Their designs are just beautiful. This bag for me, represents energy, harmony and life.
I have tried to capture some of the vibrancy of the traditional designs in this bag, I hope I have done it justice. Each colour represents part of the life of the tribe. Red for bravery and unity, Orange and Yellow for hospitality, warmth and friendship. White for peace, purity and health, Blue for energy and the sky, Green for health and the land and Black represents the people and the struggle they must endure. The black and white beads appear in many designs and are a recurring theme.
