Product Details
This is a generously proportioned double-sided garter stitch pattern for an asymmetrical shawl with a bonus pattern for a covered coat-hanger.
This pattern is perfect for showing off the yarn that you fell in love with because it can be worked in any gauge without changing the proportions of the shawl. It starts at the bottom and works up, making it easy to stop when you are happy with the size.
It uses simple stitches (k, k2tog, yo and an eye-cord bind off) to create a beautiful lace edged shawl. It is an ideal project for an inexperienced knitter or someone looking for a project that doesn’t need too much concentration but still produces something wonderful with elegant details. It features a simple two stitch lace edge on the long side and a Shetland style lace on the short edge.
I inherited Grandma’s patterns and this edge was among them written on paper saved from an old address book.
