Product Details

Left over sock yarn in your stash? This is a small little project on the side to use it up. Mary's Headband is double folded and knitted in the round. You start with a provisional cast on and first work in one direction, finishing with decreases to form one tip. Then the other half is worked the same way. I like to wear my headband either just knotted up with the ends peaking out on the sides or I tuck the ends in. You could even tie up your hair in a pony tail with it. Make it longer or a bit shorter, wider or thinner, use up different colours and make it in stripes! Make it the way you want :)

Material

Any fingering weight yarn (Sock yarn) or two strands of lace/mohair getting similar gauge work. Or one strand of lace and one strand of mohair yarn work too-so many options. Total yardage: app 30g. Between 110-140 yds depending on the total yardage/100g of the sock yarn

Techniques

Knitting in the round, purling, decreases, provisional cast on.
