Product Details
This is a pattern for a light weight shawl. it is the ideal weight for a spring or fall evening, or if you’re sensitive to air conditioning in the summer. It knits up fairly quickly, making it an ideal gift.
The shawl is made up of a single lace stitch that is both charted and written out line by line. The lace focal stitch looks complicated, but it is easily learned making a perfect pattern for a relatively new knitter that would like to try their hand at lace.
There are also instructions for an optional edging contained within the pattern, should you want it edged.
Skill Level: Beginner + - Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting). It is suitable for a beginner with a little bit of lace experience.
The yarn used in the sample is Handmaiden’s Lofty 2-6 in colorway Tourmaline Light. It requires approximately 1000 yards of yarn and is knit on a size (U.S.) #5 needle (3.75mm.)
Any heavy weight yarn will work for this pattern.
