“Just because my dreams are different than yours, it doesn’t mean they’re unimportant.” (Meg March, Little Women)
This shawl is the largest of the collection (Meg is the eldest sister), definitely romantic in character whilst also being practical and warm and is something Meg would treasure.
Beginning with a single slip stitch and increasing to a staggering number of stitches briefly during the border (1541!), this shawl is fully written (pages 1-8) with optional charts at the end of the file (pages 9-16).
Many thanks to Nancy Marchant for her work on brioche stitches and terminology, which is used here and to Deb Bramham for her brilliant tech editing.
Yarn in pics: Fyberspates, Vivacious 4ply (100% Merino wool; 365m/100g, LC: Blush, 3 skeins (1040m), DC: Verdigris, 3 skeins (990m)
Notes on yardage: My test knitter (thank you Ann Batcheller!) used 991.5m LC and 865m DC which is slightly less than my sample - a swatch is highly recommended!
