Product Details
This pattern was originally published in yarnpeople Issue 2: Brioche + and is now available as a single pattern.
Migration is an asymmetrical triangular shawl. It is knit in sections of 2-colour brioche separated by sections of tuck stitches giving the impression of detailed diagonal stripes against a plain background. The chevron motif along the bind off creates a picot edge effect.
The shawl uses a variation on Tuck Stitch #8 from Nancy Marchant’s book Tuck Stitches and a variation on a stitch pattern called Gulls from Nancy’s Knitting Fresh Brioche.
Materials: • Fingering weight yarn in two colours, MC and CC, approximately 350m (380yds) of each. • 4mm/US 6 circular needles with a 80cm/32” or longer cable. • Tapestry needle to weave in ends.
Size of finished shawl: Length 160cm/63”, width 75cm/29.5”, relaxed after blocking.
