Product Details
This pattern was inspired by and designed for my dear friend Molly. She asked for a super cozy beanie that would keep her extra warm in those long, cold Maine winters. I also used wool yarn raised and spun in Maine for this design, as well as motifs representing the state nickname, The Pine Tree State.
Pattern is written in US crochet terms.
Pattern is written for four sizes: (Baby - fits 12-15” circumference) (Toddler - fits 14-17” circumference) (Child - fits 16-19” circumference) and Adult - Fits 18-22” circumference.
Yarn: Sport weight (CYC weight 2). Approximately (225) (250) (275) 300 yards. I used approximately 285 yards of Nash Island Tide yarn (100% wild Maine wool, 175 yds/50 grams) in the color Spruce for an Adult size beanie with a folded brim. Some testers used a heavier fingering weight yarn, which was able to meet gauge as well.
Hook: 3.75 mm, or size needed to meet gauge.
