Product Details
This bag is worked in the mosaic stitch, Yin and Yang, which gives a tapestry like texture contrasting well with the ultra smooth stocking stitch this beautiful fine merino wool accomplishes. The top section is lined, the eyelets going through both layers of fabric through which the drawstring is threaded.
None of the stitch patterns used here is complicated, mosaic stitch being a particularly satisfying way to create an interesting two colour fabric without the technical complications of Fair Isle knitting. Just be sure not to pull the yarn too tightly when working the slipped sts.
The cords forming the carrying straps and drawstring may be purchased but instructions are given here to make them from the same yarn as the bag so ensuring a perfect colour match. The cord for the carrying straps takes a full ball of yarn and so is not a cheap option but very helpful if an exact match is desired.
Base: 28cm (11in) wide x 21cm (8¼in) deep
Height (base to top of bag) 42 cm (16½ in)
