Product Details
If you’ve never tried your hand at Estonian knitting, this scarf may be a perfect first project for you. This is a pattern for a fairly wide and warm, cozy scarf. It contains two distinct Estonian stitches, one of which is one or the most representative of Estonian knitting that does not contain nupps, but rather their “gathered” stitches. The edging stitch is not sewn on, as is typical of Estonian knitting, but rather is knit on as we are used to, and the second stitch flows from it.
Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming good basic knitting skills).
The stitches are both charted and written out line by line. There are also instructions for an optional crocheted edging, should you want to edge it.
Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).
The sample was knitted using Shalimar’s Breathless, in colorway, Juniper, and requires only 2 skeins of this yarn to complete.
