Product Details
In Northern Tanzania lies Lake Natron, a salt lake with a very distinctive colour. The lake derives its colours from the microorganisms that live within it. The evaporation leaves ridges of encrusted salt, in beautiful shades of pink and grey. Netjry is the Egyptian name for natron, and while the ancient Egyptians used natron in their mummification processes, it was actually used more widely.
The elegant shawl combines a simple eyelet motif with short rows to combine colours in a striking pattern. Designed to be used with mini skeins, the pattern can be worked in any combination of colours preferred.
Samples shown using Whistlebare Yeavering Bell DK (Pockets of Colour), in the ‘1403’ colour pack (multi-colour version), and Mohair by Canard Kid Mohair 2ply, in the Light Gray (2102) colour way (solid version).
