Product Details
Niki was originally designed for the Wollmeise Yarn Club, whose theme was to honour four extraordinary women, and Niki is an hommage to the artist, Niki de Saint Phalle. I invite you to play with colours to make your own version – add as much exuberance as you desire or need.
Niki is worked top down in the round with the Ziggurat method. The knitting begins with a regular longtail cast on for back and shoulders. Each shoulder is worked in turn as you begin to build sleeve caps for the set in sleeves. After the somewhat unusual and knifflige zigging and zagging, you work back and forth across all stitches for a few rows before the fronts are joined for knitting in the round.
