Product Details
The Orari River is not far from my home here in South Canterbury, New Zealand. It flows from it’s source in the Four Peaks mountain range, and past the towns of Geraldine and Orari on it’s way out to sea east of Temuka. When it is in flood, the current is much like the stitch pattern on the instep of this sock, with the mini cables depicting where the edges of the river are trying to find their new path.
Orari River Socks are a toe-up unisex ankle sock featuring a gorgeous and simple slipped stitch and cable pattern up the middle of the instep, combined with plenty of stocking stitch to keep it a quick knit.
The pattern uses Judy Becker’s Magic Cast On method and the simple clean lines of the Japanese Short Row Heel.
