This is a fairly simple pattern for beginners. I was hoping I would wind up with a square blanket based on the gauge, but even adding an extra repetition of the pattern didn't net a square. It should be easily adjustable if you are looking to make it smaller or larger. My final result with this pattern was 40 inches wide by 30 inches tall.
