Product Details
This pattern is of a traditional Fair Isle beret or tam shape which when knitted can be blocked on a dinner plate; alternatively you can have a hat more beanie shaped if you block it on a pasta bowl.
Fair Isle charts are included both in the colours in the picture of the design and also in white and dark grey so as you can easily choose your own colours to knit up the design.
The hat is for an adult size.
The hat is knitted in the round using either double pointed needles or using a circular needle (short 40cm) in both 2.75mm (US 2, UK 12) and 3.25mm (US size 3, UK size 10).
Within the hat I have used five different shades of Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift wool - one 25g ball of each colour should be sufficient to knit the design. The colours used are -
Prussian Blue 726 Natural white 104 Eggshell 768 Bluebell 665 China blue 655
Alternatively you can use any other similar weight of wool, for example Jamieson & Smith (Shetland) 2ply (jumper weight) wool.
