Product Details
The Palais Garnier stole evokes the fancy frills and gilded molding of the Paris opera house with its alternating stripes of lacy openwork framed by rippling lines of garter stitch. The stole is worked flat from end to end with an easy-to-memorize stitch pattern.
Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but using a different weight of yarn or needle size will affect the size of the finished stole.
A note on yarn: The sample uses a neutral main color with a set of five mini skeins. Knitters might also pair a main color with a single contrasting yarn, an integrated gradient, or as many contrasting colors as one would like. This project could be a great way to stashbust your fingering weight leftovers. Each contrasting color stripe of 12 rows requires approximately 22 yds / 20 m of yarn.
