Papiyon Shawlette

I designed this shawlette with yarn from Robin @birchhollowfibers and Shobha @serendipitouswool. Shobha and Robin are the dyers behind the wonderful collaboration that is Yarn Journeys Book Club: A yarn club that highlights and celebrates beautiful stories from BIPOC children’s authors. This club was created to showcase the importance of young children seeing themselves represented in the books they read or that are read to them. The name Papiyon is Haitian for Butterfly which is an insect that always reminds me of spring and better days. PATTERN: 3 pages Beginner Written in US crochet terms Yarn: Fingering weight yarn Hook: 4mm/US G6 My sample is made in Water Wheel and Poetic from Birch Hollow Fibers and Serendipitous Wool. All my testers used yarn from both shops for their samples.
