Product Details
When I was a child at ski school, mastering a series of parallel turns meant that skiing was about to become really fun: more self-confidence, higher speed, wind in the face … The design of these mittens was inspired by memories of white slopes under a bright blue sky, and the elegant traces that skiers and snowboarders carve into fresh powder snow.
Parallel Turn Mittens feature three cables winding down the back of the hand. The increases for the thumb follow the natural shape of your hand, resulting in an extra-comfortable fit. Instructions for making a fingerless version are included.
Skills required: Knitting and purling in the round, increasing and decreasing stitches, cabling over four stitches, and grafting live stitches with Kitchener stitch. A tubular cast-on is recommended, but can be substituted with another method of your choice. The pattern is worked from easy-to-follow charts depicting every round. Separate charts are provided for both hands in each size.
