When you think about Portuguese cuisine, most likely you think of one dish: the Pastel de Nata. These small, golden pastries can be found in every bakery in Portugal. According to legend, they were invented in a suburb of Lisbon called Belem. This is also where you can find the Antiga Confeitaria Pasteis de Belem bakery with its Azulejo-façade that sells countless trays full of these little puff pastry wonders every day. The trays full of pastries were the inspiration for this knitting project. I tried out a yarn shop where you can mix and match your own colours. However, you can also find ready-made yarn hints, that fit the colour of these little delicacies, in my instructions .
