Product Details
Pātiki is a cozy matching hat and cowl with an addictive color-work motif that you’ll find hard to put down! The inspiration behind the color-work motif comes from Māori tukutuku, woven panels that can be found decorating the walls of the marae (meeting houses). The central diamond motif is called Pātikitiki, or Pātiki for short. Pātiki is Māori for the flounder fish, representing abundance. The diamonds within the main diamond add to the idea of plenty, signifying layers of abundance. So when you wear the Pātiki, good fortune is sure to follow (perhaps an abundance of yarn?). A perfect addition to any stranded-knitting lover’s handmade wardrobe.
